22 Abominable Comments!

  1. Steve Says:

Reminds me of the whole bad milk scenario:

“ew, this smells horrible… smell it!”

    Nice as always!

  2. eric Hews Says:

    Funny. What a team!

  3. Lucy Says:

    Wonderful.
That made my sh*tty night so much better, thank you.

  4. Nyss Says:

The simplest jokes are the best sometimes :D

    Pure awesome, Karl.

  5. Brett Says:

I’m always amazed by how much variety you can get in your characters and your tones. There are plenty of other works that let animals talk and whatnot, but usually they choose to be downright goofy or more or less serious. Abominable, on the other hand, jumps between different side stories and tones with so much ease it’s unreal.

    Also: Townsen…SO cute. :)

  6. Andy Says:

Hey, I’ve been a reader for a little while now, but finally noticed I could comment without signing up for anything, ha. Your comic is one of my favorites right now, it’s just awesome! I’d be happy is this story went on forever! The way you draw animals and give them such expressive features is the best I’ve seen.

Thanks for making such a great comic!

  7. distantvoices Says:

Fastfood indeed. And godspeed down the throat I say *chuckle*

Fine comic. :-) Gave me some grinning today.

  8. Vvicked Says:

Townsen is exactly like every other kid in a cafeteria who has just been introduced to the Kid Who Will Eat Anything - horrified leavened with a healthy dose of fascination. ;p

Will we see Sissi Skunk of south-bend-in-the-river or her shills interrupt this meal? :D

  9. Lee Says:

the last panel kinda reminds me of calvin and hobbes :)

  10. Stuart Says:

This townsen fellow is a perfect dose of comic relief.

    Well done.

    (Sweet cameo in Kukuburi!)

  11. Juampa Says:

Townsen acts just like my dog Artigas.

  12. eric from abeno Says:

you may have been asked this before, but I’m really interested in how the better artists organize their strips. I mean, I guess for a long-running story you need an outline, then strip-by-strip you make a dialogue first? do you draw each panel A4 size, or 4 panels in one sheet? sorry to be a pain, I’m just curious about the process from start to finish…

beautiful art, by the way, and very engaging characters. Not sure if you consider this complimentary or insulting, (making comparisons is always treading thin ice) but to me there’s a kind of “Fox and the Hound” combined with “Wind in the Willows” feel to your art and story. I love the pacing and the humor as well. Thank you very much for making such a terrific comic.

  13. Lor Says:

Charles Christoper’s expression kills me everytime. That “Well DUH!” look on the second panel is perfection.

  14. Abs Says:

Heheh xD I love your comics so much, I’m so happy to have found them!
    Townsen = love x3

  15. Mickey C Says:

Love the comic ! Always puts a smile on my face :)

    Thanks :D

  16. sophia Says:

    townsen is my favourite. beautiful.

  17. CJ Says:

They’re sort of like the Calvin and Hobbes of the fantasy world, aren’t they?

  18. Moebius Says:

Everytime I imagine Townsen talking, Andy Dick’s voice comes to my mind.

  19. Andy B Says:

    Hi Uncle Karl
!st time caller long time listener. Just a few questions, Are bugs Charlie’s favorite food or does he like pizza? and by the way what is his favorite color?

  20. Cody Says:

Heehee! Yay Townsen Bravado Whitefox! He’s so innocent and adorable! And his hyper-active mile-a-minute mouth is a great contrast to strong and silent (sometimes scared) Charles Christopher. Excellent strip, can’t wait to see what happens next!

  21. Pants Says:

Karl, this is AMAZING. When are you going to publish this so I can send you all my money?

  22. KR Says:

It’s actually physically painful how adorable Townsen is. Like, I’m having chest pains right now (not to mention my cheeks hurt from smiling so much).
