What’s in a Name
This strip was actually meant to be twice as long, but I got stuck in a rainstorm as I was motorcycling back from Toronto yesterday and had to stay in a hotel. I didn’t have time to draw the other half. SO… to make up for it, I’ll post the second part on Friday! That’s like getting two strips in one week, right? Right?
Stay tuned. Things are about to get crazy.

June 4th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
Oh, now that’s just being a tease! (Dangling a second strip AND the foggy dialogue!)
Poor Bravado.
June 4th, 2008 at 7:08 pm
Two strips? Right!
As for the ominous foreshadowing: we have a grasshopper to take care of the crazies.
June 4th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
things are about to get crazy… CRAZY GOOD!!!
June 4th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
Do I see the word ’semen’ in there? :-*
June 4th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
Oh man, I really wish I knew what he said!
Great work, Karl. Keep it up.
June 4th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
xD More like seven, if you ask me.
June 4th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
my guess? “one of my seven children…” that’s what I got.
June 4th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
Just read up to date. Very intrigueing (sp?) so far. Love your art style. Looking forward to more.
June 4th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
Wow, I’m really loving this comic!
You really inspire me, and I’m on the edge of anticipation for the next plot development!
June 4th, 2008 at 11:53 pm
I make it out as: “Charles… [illegible]… one of my seven. A word [possibly ‘world’] of [illegible].”
June 5th, 2008 at 12:28 am
I don’t think it’s “children”, the first character doesn’t look much like a C
June 5th, 2008 at 5:27 am
It’s certainly “one of my seven” something, but that doesn’t look like “children” to me. I can’t quite make it out, but it looks like it begins with an A. Hm… Jinkies, gang! It looks like we’re up to our ascots in another mystery!
June 5th, 2008 at 5:45 am
Rainstorm you say? So thats what happened to the lettering in panel 2. ;-D
June 5th, 2008 at 11:03 am
(just guessing, but: The CIRCUS! He’s going to the circus!!!
… OMG…
June 5th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
This is great! I love how much discussion can be sparked by a foggy balloon bubble.
I love this comic– exquisitely drawn, clever writing, and intriguing characters. Please keep up the good work! can’t wait for tomorrow.
June 5th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
And in todays 2nd panel, the role of the lion will be played by Kenny McCormick!
Must be sweeps week.
June 6th, 2008 at 12:44 am
he looks like a townsen
June 6th, 2008 at 2:13 am
what about “one of my seven abominable sons”?
probably not.
June 6th, 2008 at 2:48 am
That’s sweet. Charles isn’t a stranger. :)
But it almost seems like the fox is being left behind…
June 6th, 2008 at 6:58 am
Townsen! That is adorable, and he really does look like a Townsen.
June 6th, 2008 at 8:23 am
Somebody needs to hug that fox
June 6th, 2008 at 9:32 am
I love the timing on that - “It’s Towsend!”
This strip is so great. I hope it sees print someday. Id buy it in a heartbeat.
June 6th, 2008 at 9:33 am
oops i mean “Townsen”
June 6th, 2008 at 10:38 am
Charles has a [whispered!] Quest. Sweet.
June 6th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Well there we go. Townsen. Cute. Though his nickname shall always be Bravado to me c.c
June 6th, 2008 at 11:43 am
Townsen is good…. But I still Like Bravado. Perhaps its Townsen Bravado Whitefox? I mean, *I* have a middle name…
June 6th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Heh, or Townsen “Bravado” Whitefox, just make Bravado its nickname yo.
June 6th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
AW! *sniffle*
June 6th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
He’s still Bravado to me :(
June 6th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
You know… speaking as someone who does a bit of climbing sometimes, that descent looks REALLY dangerous.
June 6th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
Awe, that was alittle punch of cutness to distract me from the conversation between the lion and Charles. Townsen is adorable. ^-^
June 6th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
It’s like a candy-coated bundle of vivrance splattering all over my day.
June 6th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Aww, I love that fox.
And I love the way Charles is climbing down that cliff. Like a two-year old goes down the stairs: Backwards and feet first.
June 6th, 2008 at 9:20 pm
I seriously love Townsen so much. Every time he’s in the strip I have at least moment where I have to say “Aww!” out loud.
June 6th, 2008 at 9:38 pm
Esn: Charles probably has the upper body strength of a gorilla. I’m sure he can make it.
June 7th, 2008 at 2:05 am
Vikki:
That’s the way one goes down a cliff. You don’t go down a cliff with your back to the wall, because neither your hands nor your feet work very well backwards…
June 7th, 2008 at 3:48 am
It’s so nice to be caught up on a strip, but… Waiting for the next one is hard +_+
June 7th, 2008 at 8:16 am
how was bravado made up? Townsen awww
June 7th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
I really, really love this comic and your style, kudos to you.
June 7th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
aww bravado has a real name.. i was hoping you’d leave him nameless and he could continue being the unnamed bravado in our hearts… thoguh out of all the names you could’ve picked… i reaaly like Townsen so you’re forgiven and adored.
June 8th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Townsen is the best…
Christian
June 9th, 2008 at 12:38 am
He doesn’t look much like a Townsen.
I like Bravado. Don’t know how that name came about, but it fits.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:27 am
Bravado doesn’t sound like an actual name guys it’s just a description. I like Townsen a lot better I think it suits him.
June 9th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Townsen is too cute. And I trully love your art and your inks.
June 9th, 2008 at 11:47 pm
I like Townsen, it’s quirky and adorable. Like the fox.
June 10th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Perfect! As always.
June 11th, 2008 at 11:11 am
Townsen rocks!! i want one !! XD
June 11th, 2008 at 5:54 pm
Simply brilliant. I have yet to see anything of yours that failed to instill awe.
