Seen and Not Heard

24 Abominable Comments!

  1. KeeliLuv Says:

Ooooh… poor Bravado. My bull mastiff has the same look on her face when I yell at her for barking at the other dogs… the birds… the door…

  2. ramón Says:

just cause he’s king of the jungle thinks he can throw his weight around.

    terrible.

the lion, not the comic :)

good luck with the deadline crunch my friend.

  3. Crowe Says:

    Down boy!

  4. eric Hews Says:

Poor thing shoulda seen it comin’… Frame 4 literally made me pout in involuntary sympathy.
Good luck with everything, Karl. Breathe, stretch, coffee, rinse and repeat.

  5. tory Says:

    awwwww mean lion….

  6. Hackenwulf Says:

It’s amazing that Bravoda looks quite even when scared…

  7. katada Says:

    oh my god he’s adorable.

  9. Chip Says:

I wish I had your troubles… I’ve no doubt you’ll pul through with flying colors.

Today’s strip is as beautiful as ever. Thanks a ton for sharing such a glorious gift.

  10. Kate Says:

As I read the comic, my dog sat next to me with her head on my leg and had the same look Bravado had in panel 4, but my dog just wanted to be pet.

Great job with the comic as always!

  11. Nyss Says:

I don’t like that lion :/ He looks evil, and now he yelled at Bravado.

  12. Sgt. Howard Says:

… Amazing… I wanted somebody to slap that silly fox several times in this story… then he gets frightened because the lion hits the end of his rope and bellows at him… and now I want to comfort the little schlump because he likely soiled himself… Karl you spin a good yarn, I think you’ll do just fine wherever you go or however you’re challenged

  13. Steve Says:

Everyone assumes it was the Lion who yelled at Bravado?

  14. Scott Says:

I don’t think Charles has ever spoken before, so it’s natural to assume it was likely the lion. But that would be an interesting plot twist if Charles had the inability to speak quietly, and always yelled at people. Hahaha.

There’s something subtle in each strip that I don’t catch on first glance. This week, I thought I caught it all, all of the priceless expressions, everything - and then I saw it - the tail tucked between Bravado’s legs!

Add me to that list of people who went ‘aww!’ at the 4th panel.

  15. vileseagulls Says:

I WANT TO CUDDLE HIM. :(

  16. Vvicked Says:

Well, C. Christopher’s never made any speech-type sound that we know of, right? I hope there’s a moment in the next comic or two where C. Christopher or Moon Bear or someone gives the lion a smack on the back of his head, ’cause yelling at Bravado’s just cold. It’s Bravado! He’s lost! And hungry! And one and a half years old! ::shake head slowly and disapprovingly at the lion::

  17. Doomguy Says:

I like Bravado. He yaps on a lot. Like me! Random gibberish without any sign of stopping until someone yells ‘SHADDAAAAAAP!’ and then come the sad faces. Yeah…

  18. James Says:

I’m a dog owner and that last frame totally made me sympathize with Bravado. This is one of the best comics. You are able to bring out great emotions in the characters.

  19. Vashra Says:

    Hee.
That Lion reminds me just a bit of a certain Headmaster back in the day.
    Poor foxie :)

  20. Esn Says:

    I love it!

This is going to be such an awesome graphic novel when it’s all done.

  21. Lyon Says:

Dude… seriously, plush toys, you’ll make a fortune.

    Get on that.

  22. Dynamaso Says:

While I feel sorry for Bravado, this strip reinforces the seriousness of what Charles is going to have to do in the future.

    Another awesome strip, Karl.

  23. Aki Says:

Great comic strip Karl, the drawings have amazing detail.
Just wondering, why doesn’t Bravado speak French anymore?

  24. Avis Says:

Just found this strip, and I wanted to say…this is amazing. Magnificent. I was drawn in from the first strip and the sense of humor, whimsy, and seriousness all doled out in incredible professional pace is such a great compliment to the addictive, gorgeous art. I’m really not sure if I enjoy the wonderful expressions or the amazing backgrounds better.

Summary: absolutely amazing, and I will be following eagerly from this point on.
