Time is Relative

I’m fascinated by quantum mechanics, multiple world theories and the nature of perceived time. None of that inspired today’s comic, but in coming up with a title for it I remembered my interest and now I’m digging up old books again. Time to dust off my copy of A Brief History of Time!

36 Abominable Comments!

  1. Mike Schramm Says:

Love it. That lion will learn not to take himself too seriously.

  2. Kitsy Says:

    XD!
Time is Relative as Patience is a Virtue~ The side glance is precious! XD

  3. Andrew Says:

Argh! It’s so frustrating! Haha, but his insistence is still hilarious, and that it forces us to be in more suspense adds to the humor. Nice.

  4. as363 Says:

Agree with the sidelong glance in the last panel. I don’t know what the tolerance is of the Lion?MoonBear - but I - for one - would not be too tempted to find out

Another killer panel Karl - one more added to my “Maybe buy” list. Is there any discount on quantity he said -( with a slight whimper in his voice .) (:>((

  5. maks Says:

Adorable. :)) in a way which made me recall Bunuel’s Milky Way, the blind men curing scene

  6. funtime42 Says:

Subjective Time Differential - the split second you face while time crawls for everyone else.

On another note, got my panel and could not be happier. It’s already framed and in my office. Thank you.

  7. Michel Lacombe Says:

Love the little fox what cannot be flapped.

  8. eric Hews Says:

Hehe. The fox is a great companion for TACC. They’re both essentially 7 year-olds.

  9. cesare Says:

brilliant, my 6 year old peppers me that way, I love it, and that’s one handsome lion to boot

  10. Hackenwulf Says:

I still cannot get over yhe youthful exuberance of the fox!!!

  11. Grigmott Says:

Bravado’s mouth is perfectly hilarious in that last panel, sir. Is his name Bravado? Does he have a name? Do any of the animals have names besides the big ol’ bear whose name escapes me at the present?

  12. Nyss Says:

Hehehe! Bravado is just too much :3

Such a blithely curious and adorable little fox

  13. Matthew Says:

The Fox makes me so happy.

  14. Koen Says:

The fox is fabulous. Beautiful combination of Charles who can’t speak (as far as we know) and Fox who keeps asking the darnest questions

  15. bethany Says:

I love the incredibly subtle change in Charlie’s expression in the last panel. Reminds me of looks I received after my own childhood comments.

  16. Mary Says:

The Elegant Universe is better. love the fox.

  17. Lynn Says:

That li’l pup is *adorable.* :)

  19. cayetano Says:

Agree with mary the Elegant Universe By Brian Greene or A Brief History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson which has many fabulous topics and easy explinations. PS I am in love with your comics.

  20. Phil Says:

I’ll go with the family and say that I just love that Fox. The face in the last panel is adorable!

  21. Steve Says:

chortle. No pomposity can survive such a frontal assault. Love the overlapping text bubbles.

  22. Slomo Says:

I’d suggest The Dancing Wu Li Masters by Gary Wu, that book is a big reason why I decided to study physics. But yeah, that little dude is hilarious.

  23. Zenoflame Says:

I just ruv that Snow Fox!

  24. karl Says:

I’ve never read The Elegant Universe, but I watched the documentary a few years ago and it felt really rushed. And I’m listening to Bill Bryson’s book now as an audiobook, which he reads himself. ‘The Dancing Wu Li Masters’ is next on the list! Thanks for the suggestions, everybody!

  25. Sgt. Howard Says:

SLAP the impertinant little… dweeb… !!! That lion could choke him down without half a hiccough, but I suspect the chutzpah of the tiny fuzzy lump (FLUMP, in this house) has derailed his train of thought- Charles seems about to correct the twit’s manners… stuff the pacifier into his mouth… ?

  26. Louisa Says:

I nominate “Chutzpah” for another name choice for the fox. Though I do like Bravado.

  27. Tevong Says:

Love the webcomic Karl! It’s a real inspiration to see such great artwork.

I don’t mean to spam but if you’re interested in physics you may be interested in a webcomic from a theoretical physics student: http://www.tevong.co.uk/adlib.php?adlib=37
