Love his expression in the final frame. =)

    …I wonder if something broke.

Hadn’t realized how much I needed a laugh until you gave me one. That was better than chocolate…

Nice one Karl! This is stinking funny! I was wondering what would happen when Charles put him up in that tree. :)

Nice callback. This strip just never ceases to amaze me. The balance of humor and heartbreak is handled so deftly that I can’t even handle it. Happy New Year, Karl, and thanks for providing a GREAT strip.

Yes, I did wonder how a rabbit gets out of a tree. I was hoping it wouldn’t be like that, though.

I don’t know if this has been addressed or not yet, but will there be a book, because I am wrapped up in this more than I was in GON. I simply love the story and the line work, it flows so well.

  12. BRENDAN McCARTHY Says:

Really terrific stuff Karl. Your work is superb.
    Best,
    Brendan McCarthy

I was only just told about this strip. I can’t get over the beauty of your illustrations, Karl. The stories so far seem poignant, melancholic and at the same time, humourous. You’ve won me over big time.

Happy New Year to you too.

  14. eric Hews Says:

I think the last frame of this awesomely quiet-but-funny scenario would make a great tongue-in-the-right-cheek New Year’s greeting card. The inside says nothing, of course. Blank cards are the best. eH.

  15. Vvicked Says:

I knew there’d be trouble (on the rabbit’s part) waking up in a tree.. But Christopher’s heart is in the right place (and his hands are waaay too big to stuff the bunny properly down a burrow, even if he could find one) - keep the bunny safe!

  16. Aveline Says:

…. and the tears are followed by a smile. You have been forgiven. For now … *brandishes fist*
