I caught wind of this webcomic a just a little while back, and I’ve got to say your work is so beautiful. The art, the dialogue, it’s all so crisp and wonderful. You’ve managed to create such depth with the characters, and the artwork brings tears to my eyes. Keep up the fantastic work and best wishes for the holidays.
Wow. I just stumbled across this today and I have to say this is really extraordinary. It’s really refreshing to find a well-drawn comic that’s not just about one-off gags and puts so much work into creating beautiful visuals. Just great!
@Watanabex — Vivol isn’t a dream… he’s the bear that showed up earlier on in the strip (the party was at his place, remember?).
This is backstory for his life, and possibly for the existence of the Moon bear… gotta wait and see.
Karl, many thanks for this story, and your lovely artwork! I worry sometimes about creators with no clue about where their own story will end up — obviously there’s a big risk you run, and I’ve seen it fail uncomfortably — but I’m getting very good vibes from this one. And I have a million ideas for where I’d like to see it go, which also suggests a promising beginning!
Happy holidays Karl - once again - a beautiful piece of art . Many thanks to PVP for directing me here - I can see why you only post once a week - this cannot be rushed . That does not stop me from wishing that it were done faster and more often . But beauty comes to those that wait.
I also got here from PVP’s site, and it’s the best new find I’ve had in at least a year. I hope that I don’t offend when I tell you that I have compared your art and skill to Frank Miller’s work. Needless to say, I’m hooked, and this will be a weekly stop for me.
@ Karl - I don’t even know what to say …. this strip is so amazing…i came across it looking for an image to post as a comment on the band, Freescha’s myspace page ’cause i was feeling their song “abominable love”…. googling shot me into the path of Chuck C and the forest of ordinary anthropomorphic splendor…and i’ve been hooked ever since….Hey…in 2008…stay healthy!…i don’t want you to miss one strip…. and….you HAVE to do a book….
